FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Announcing MicroBusNew Expandable Microcomputer System from MicroBus Inc.July 14, 2003 -- MicroBus Inc.announces the availability of it's new MicroBus embedded computer system boards. These credit-card sized processor boards include the RAB1 using the Rabbit 3000 processor, and the AVR-1 which uses the Atmel AVR Mega processors. Each flash memory based ISP processor can stand alone with it's serial, A/D, LCD, keypad and Digital I/O ports, or can be expanded via the MicroBus to include additional functionality. Processors were selected for efficiency in executing C language applications but can also be programmed in Basic or Assembler. For immediate release in addition to the RAB-1 and AVR-1 processors, there are the first three MicroBus peripherals. ADC-20 is a 20 bit analog I/O board with bridge signal conditioning for strain and pressure sensors. LCD-1 is a flat panel LCD controller designed for most monochrome LCD panels from 240 X 64 up to 640 X 480. PROTO-1 is a MicroBus prototyping board that allows engineers to quickly build and test custom hardware. All boards and peripherals are supported with C language libraries. Third party development tools range from free Gnu GCC compiler for the AVR processors to Dynamic C from Rabbit Semiconductor. MicroBus is offered as an open bus intended for expansion of microprocessors to include a wide range of peripherals.
